Howe - Vocalist
Wallace Fields (Piano) began his piano career
at the age of 14 as an accompanist. By 18 he had joined the
London University jazz band, written music for a film and
made guest appearances at the Cy Laurie Jazz Club, Soho, London.
He has founded the RAM Theatre Company, which toured Israel
with his musical Kinneret, and also founded the Jewish Music
Group and the Redbridge Festival of Jewish Music and Drama
in 1983.
Paul
Eshelby (Trumpet/Flugal) has been a featured soloist
with the BBC Big Band for seventeen years and regularly works
as a session musician for film and television, including the
soundtrack for Basic Instinct. Paul has played for a variety
of big band leaders and composers including Billy May, Johnny
Dankworth, Geoff Love and Henry Mancini as well as artists
such as Rod Stewart, Shirley Bassey, Ella Fitzgerald and Harry
Connick Jnr. Paul was appointed Musical Director of the Wally
Fields Jazz Orchestra in January 2002.
Ron
Findon (Clarinet/Sax) could be called a 'versatile'
musician. Ron has played with Joe Loss at Buckingham Palace
for the Queen on countless occasions, travelled the world
with his own band on P&O cruise ships, spent two happy
years as clarinettist with Harry Gold and his Pieces of Eight.
In addition, he is a LRAM and recently recorded Mozart's Clarinet
Concerto. Ron is also an accomplished performer on flute and
bassoon.
Murray
Salmon (Bass) first was taught clarinet and piano
at school, but after leaving and performing with amateur bands,
taught himself double bass. Having backed some of the top
acts of the seventies (Matt Monroe, Tom Jones, Buddy Greco
et al.) Murray began playing on the SS Canberra, performing
all over the world.
Brian
'Chip' Chippendale (Drums) played for many years
for the Joe Loss Orchestra under the direction of Ron Findon,
and later for the Johnny Howard Band. Equally adept at small
combo jazz he has played for many of the top groups at clubs
and festivals and has also performs regularly in the West
End including such shows as Evita, Blood Brothers, West Side
Story, A Chorus Line, and Hot Mikado.
Phil
Phillips (Piano/Vocalist) led top class bands for
many years on the famed Mayfair nightclub circuit and as pianist,
has accompanied many famous cabaret artists including Leo
Sayer, Marti Caine. Whilst considered by the jazz fraternity
to be the very best function band piano/vocalist in the UK,
he is also a noted composer and lyricist counting amongst
his many creations the brilliant theme for the Jimmy Young
Show.
Jenny
Howe (Vocalist) hails from Ireland, and has enjoyed
a varied career mostly working with live bands and orchestras.
Joined the National Youth Jazz Orchestra as vocalist in 1994
and is featuered on several live albums recorded at Ronnie
Scotts Jazz CLub, london. Also has a very busy schedule doing
voice overs for commercials along with other film and television
work.
